Some of the most decorative members of our western chaparral are the flowering currants. A favorite in our Nursery, these five to eight foot shrubs experience their glory during the colder months in our California Native garden. It is then that racemes of delicate flowers in shades from white to pink to purple to red hang from their bare branches giving a spot of color to the late winter/early spring landscape.
Look for the flowering currents in the California Native Garden and in this month's In Bloom feature, complete with photos, a plant profile and exact locations. |
